Outstanding villa... clean, comfortable with all amenities. The hosts couldn't be more hospitable - Manuela, Roberto and Vali were amazing. They made us a dinner at the villa which was unforgettable and we couldn't ask for more accommodating and friendly hosts. I would highly recommend this villa. We were the first Canadians to rent this villa ,hopefully there are many more.
2 wonderful restaurants in town... outstanding Tuscany food in Antica Borga- wild boar sauce was awesome. The Pizzeria was amazing - lots of selection. The town is central to anything you want to do in Tuscany.

We really appreciated the warm welcome we received at arrival. We particularly enjoyed the space around the villa (25 ACRES !!!)eating "al fresco" sourrounded by beautiful views and relaxing by the large pool .Enjoyed our trips to Forte dei Marmi and Barga. The thursday market in Castelnuovo was worth a visit and having Marco come round to prepare an authentic tuscan meal was a great cultural experience . Thanks for this lovely week. P.S.: Parco Avventura and horse riding were fantastic experiences for the children.

Dearest Elio and Mrs. Elio There really arent’ words to express appreciately how wonderful our time here has been. Certaldo Alto is definitely magical and so peaceful. We already loved Italy but new staying here and meeting you will love it even more. You are the “ultimate” host. You went out your way to take care of us. Your maps and touring informations was wonderful. The wine tasting and tours very informative and fun. You are so right when you say we come as your guest and leave as your friend. I think you have found your true calling ! Thank you for the wonderful apartment, the cure taking, information, stories, jokes, and most of friendship. We do plan our returning and bring more friends. We would also be honoured to have you visit the States and come see us ! Will keep practicing our Italian. It was in a lovely location- scenic and historic on the outside and modern and simply but beautifully appointed on the inside. We were in the Firenze apartment, one of the three in Borgo Toscano which was in the peaceful, medieval section of the small town of Certaldo called Certaldo Alto. The apartment was sparkling clean and well equipped. We were close to the railway station and able to walk to the grocery store, laudromat, wine and coffee bars, church, bank, market etc. A reliable funicular took us up and down the steep slope to and from Certaldo Alto. Our host, Elio was very kind and attentive and went out of his way to help us enjoy our stay in beautiful "Tooscany" as his charming Italian accent pronounced it. We were able to take the train and bus to visit Florence, Siena, and other nearby towns and able to balance times of quiet relaxation with busy sightseeing times.
The San Lorenzo market in Florence is amazing and the inside food concessions are special and a nice change from all the Churches

Thorougly enjoyed our short stay in Italy with this wonderful apartment/village as an exquisite base for the adventure. We were told prior to leaving NZ that you were a very helpful and friendly host- totally true !!! Enjoyed the market and contact with artisans here. Totally memorable/beautiful

The villa was rustic, clean, tidy and comfortable. Beautiful view of the valley and lovely pool. Monika and her family, as well as the other residents of the "village" were very kind, courteous and helpful. Monika provided a new infant high chair and travel cot, which was very nice. TRY OUT: Visit the pizzeria near Il Pino, immediately before the SR71 interchange on the road from the villa. There is no menu, but they make excellent customized pizzas and serve great gelato. A visit to Poppi is a must-see.

The villa is a 10 min (8Km) drive from the two nearest towns (Rassina and Bibbiena) where shops and restuarants are located. One could walk it, but the steep twisty road would preclude all but the fittest. We were end-of-season, but unfortunately the pool was too cold to use.
What did you like on our website www.tuscany-villas.com ? Clear and well laid out. The pictures were representative of the product. My questions were all answered by the agents patiently and politely - thank you.

The Villa was terrific! The view (amazing), decor, bedrooms, baths and the general condition of the villa met our highest expectations. The location was a country/mountain setting about fifty miles south of Florence within 25 minutes from the wonderful small city of Arezzo. Nice jumping off point to Siena and the Chianti region too.We met the owner and her family. They were all helpful and greeted us warmly.
What could be done better, what didn’t you like? I cannot think of one thing. Nothing really. The only thing I would suggest is that you consider lowering the damage deposit. It was 30% which seems high. At the end of the stay we got the total deposit back anyway.
There are several small towns within a fifteen to twenty minute radius. Visit them. It is worth your while! Also make sure you visit Siena and Chianti both were highlghts of our vacation.
