Yellow Bar - WHERE: Florence, city center between the Duomo and  the museum Bargello

Some places, even though they cater to a tourist crowd, manage to distinguish themselves anyway. Here you will find a typical pizza menu, which are all cooked in a wood burning stove, as well as a wide selection of fresh salads of every type. Sometimes its just what you need after walking the Florentine streets.

The only thing I can say is that they have a great pizza for being in the center of tourist city - and it is well worth it. It is a wood buning stove - so you can actually get up and watch them make it - they all speak more than one language, and the menu is in English and Italian.  They are fast and have a good price.

What makes the difference between this place and 100`s of others in Florence - well the menu is full of salads of every type with tomatoes, or cheese or even the Italian style chef salad - its so nice to see a little bit of green stuff liberally thrown in to the menu.  In fact, I suggest that a pizza and a salad would make the perfect lunch for two persons. - Beer is always your best bet with pizza, wine is a little bit of overkill.

For those of you who are looking for a hearty menu - they have a wide selection of pastas  - and they are all large protions.  If you don`t want to pass up something from the wood burning oven but need a spaghetti with pomodoro to tie you over - over a schiacciata (a pizza with no topping) and eat that while you wait for your primo.
