Today Pistoia is a world center for the manufacturing of trains and other metal products. In fact in the 16th century the metalworkers of Pistoia created the pistola, thus giving the city its name's the story says.

The Italian train system has a speedy Gonzalez train that runs from Florence to Venice every morning and evening - you have the perfect amount of time to get your feet wet (so to speak) and enjoy the wonders of "Venezia".
