Die Empfehlung vom Hausverwalter "Cantina" in Greve ist wirklich gut. Ansonsten empfehlen wir die Osteria "La Piazza" (vor Castellina in Richtung "Nittardi" ...übrigens eine traumhafte Fratoria...abbiegen) - da gibt es sehr gute Küche zu super Preis/Leistung !!! Das Haus ist wirklich ruhig und abgelegen. Das Haus ist über einen "Feldweg" von Greve aus zu erreichen (fahren Sie "Stoßdämpferschonend") dafür wird man mit einem traumhaften Blick entschädigt ! :-) |

The supermarket (a small COOP) had everything we needed, but remember that it is closed on Sundays. The restaurants were great. The wineries and tasting rooms presented a diverse selection of wine, often at quite reasonable prices. The villa is located in a beautiful setting. The views were breathtaking. |

Be sure to phone him on arrival....you will never find the villa on your own. Do not even THINK about driving into Florence. Take the bus. The vineyard Castel Verrazano, just a few km from Greve, is an excellent choice for a visit and meal. |

| Pierrefonds, Canada, POSTED: 01/08/2007 A visit at Castello Vicchiomaggio for the wine tour and gourmet dinner is a must! Reservations are needed, dinner tour takes place on Mondays. Dinner at Castello Gabbiano is also very pleasant. A visit at the Sant Andrea vineyard is very pleasant, ask for Don Francesco for your tour, the site is beautiful. For lunch at Greve in Chianti, Café Sant'Anna is fantastic, great value and warm service on the terrace in the back. The owner of the villa, Luigi is a kind and accomodating man. |

The location was very central and convenient to sites in Florence and as far south as Siena and Cortona. Don't go to Siena on Market Day (Wednesday) as there will be absolutely no place to park. We developed a routine of eating our main meal of the day at noon in wonderful restaurants, and the evening meal we prepared at the villa ... |

Llandinam, United Kingdom, POSTED: 21/04/2006 We came without a car...regular buses from Sita bus station opposite main train station in Florence to Greve through beautiful Tuscan landscape...owner very kindly can arrange to pick you up from Greve. We spent most of our time at the villa as it was so beautiful...but a few hours to aquire food from the town, Apart from a supermarket..you can by most foods...also nice bread shop & also very small health shop in town. There are some nice restaurants beside the unusual triangle shaped centre and there are a few vegetarian & vegan options if you have diets like ourselves.
We came as a family with 3 children to stay in a small piece of heaven for the first week in April....Sant Andrea is a beautiful house set in 100 acreas of Olive groves & woodland on hillside with gorgeous views over countryside. The weather in April was like a british summer, we only had one day where it rained briefly for about 30 mins otherwise blue skies .Children loved to play in gardens, Olive groves & trees...and chase after 100's of beautiful lizards. We often ate al fresco, looking over gorgeous landscape..sunsets were magical with big red suns setting over rolling hills. There are lovely walks all around..into the woods, there is also a lake at the top of the hill. We came without any car...by regular buses from Florence and Luigi kindly picked us up / dropped us off at Greve 3 kms away were bus stops. Greve a lovely quanit town with shops / restaurants & lovely playground for children. Luigis father in law was pruni9ng Olive trees & one day kindly took us to Greve and we did a magical circular walk from Greve to beautiful Montefioralle an ancient walled hilltop village (nice restaurant !! just befor you reach village) we then continued on the circular walk to San Cresi (where Luigi was born)and round back to
Greve. All along lanes amidst olive groves & cypress trees & certainly a high point of the week. The villa is beautiful with lovely rroms which each have stunning postcard views of the valley...gorgeous large long family dining table with massive open fire which we used a couple of times for romantic evenings with candlelight when children had gone to bed !! We could certainly live there...and would love to go back...highly recommended. Luigi was very helpful & kind . Many many thanks. We would certainly recommend it...for families and romance !!! |

The location of the villa is excellent, high up in the mountains, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and wild flowers. The view is breathtaking. Rolling hills and green hill tops as far as the eyes can see. The host is most hospitable and helpful. We felt peace, tranquility, serenity. We stayed at Sant Andrea with our 2 young children ( 4 and 1 1/2). They had the most wonderful time exploring what nature has to offer. We will return to Sant Andrea very soon.
