| Nottingham, England, POSTED: 12/06/2008 The views from the villa were awesome.... what a beautiful setting and so peaceful. Tuscany is beautiful and views everywhere were stunning and the medieval towns were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed it. |
| St. Ruprecht, Österreich, POSTED: 01/05/2008 Lage super und zentral zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten, Service ok, Restaurants in Casole oder Colle 10km fahrt |
| st omer, france, POSTED: 19/09/2007 The villa was perfect for us and another couple we were on holiday with. Ample of utensils and good cooking facilities - bar-b-q included. Casole d'Elsa was a delight, people friendly set meal restaurant outstanding - you need never cook in the evening as the menue is changed every night. Apart from the main tourist places (Siena number one). Monteriggioni is a must. |
| Gloucester, UK, POSTED: 30/08/2007 The villa was in a really nice location with beautiful views. Bee-eaters are common in the area and these colourful birds were always around. The pool was excellent. The owner provided wine and some other goodies which was a nice touch. Casole D'Elsa is a picturesque town, just minutes away, with a few handy shops selling provisions and several caffes. Make sure you also visit San Gimignano. |
| Telford Shropshire, U.K., POSTED: 19/08/2007 An excellent villa in superb surroundings. Magnificent views. A friendly owner. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. |
Indianapolis, USA, POSTED: 29/05/2007 The villa location is quiet and a car is needed. Casole d'Elsa on the hill is wonderful! The people are great and friendly. There is a Pizzeria and fixed menu restaurant in the main part of the town. Both are very reasonable. Il Barritello (wine bar) is a wonderful places to eat and/or watch a soccer match! This villa is in a great location if you are planning day trips to Siene, Florence, Pisa, Volterre, San Giamaniano or any of the other great places in Tuscany. The villa is more amazing in person! As an artist, there was never a lack of something to paint or photograph. The scenery would seem different every day. The quiet fields with the birds singing, sheep grazing, roosters crowing, deer napping until dusk are all magical. The welcome package of eggs, pasta, wine and sauce were wonderful. Anntonetta is a great host (even though she didn't speak English and we knew very little Italian). It is a place that will always be in our heart. |
Crows Nest, Australia, POSTED: 22/10/2006 Casole D'Elsa is the most charming village - we ate in both restaurants and really enjoyed the food. Having Internet access in the bar was also good. This part of Tuscany is picture postcard perfect. We had the most marvellous holiday - the caretaker, Antonietta, was very good, the countryside just beautiful, the villa and the complex first class and the garden a real joy. It was a pleasure to arrive and find fresh eggs, a bottle of wine, pasta and pasta sauce, etc had been left for us - all very welcoming. Being in the middle of a working farm was also very nice - to hear the tinkle of the sheep bells as they were moving about the fields, to see pheasant, and even deer in the distance was a bonus, as well as the lovely country sound of the farmer ploughing the fields. I will definitely be recommending the villa to anyone travelling to Tuscany for this type of holiday. |
STOUFFVILLE, CANADA, POSTED: 22/10/2006 MAKE SURE THEY VISIT THE ACTUAL TOWN OF CASOLE D'ELSA, WE ALMOST DIDN'T. BEUTIFUL VIEW OF THE COUNTRYSIDE, VERY RELAXING. |
| Belvidere, US, POSTED: 19/10/2006 The location was absolutely ideal: about a 30-minute drive to San Gimignano and Volterra, and 40 minutes to Sienna. Casole d'Elsa is a beautiful town, with a great bakery on the square, and an excellent restaurant, Cafe Casolani, that serves a set menu of locally grown foods. It may be helpful for others to know that there is a hairdryer in the villa, but no microwave and no dishwasher. There is a self-service laundromat in Colle val d'Elsa, about 15 minutes away, just off the main square. |
Horsham, UK, POSTED: 29/08/2006 Small Supermarket in Casole D'Elsa near Petrol station (2k from Villa). Limited Restaurants in Town, 2 Hotels with Restaurants. The Villa is in a Stunning although remote location, may not be suitable for Teenagers looking for things to do although the scenery is fabulous !! Fantastic location although remote and a Car is definately required as everything is a drive away. |
