Scottsdale, USA POSTED: 31/10/2008 The area was very beautiful, especially during our trip in October 2008 with all of the brillent Fall colors. Everyone we meant was very friendly, kind, and helpful. Because we speak very minimal Italian, reading the restaurant menus was often difficult. We visited all of the surrounding villages and towns near the villa and in Southern Tuscany. The villa was in a beautiful and relaxing country setting with lots of fruit, olive, walnut, maple, oak, birch trees, etc. The owners of the villa were extremely accommodating and friendly. A highlight of our trip was a private cooking class and formal dinner at our villa with Marisa Vitali and her staff of "Chicche di nozze" (www.chicchedinozze.com) It was so much fun and interesting to prepare pizza in the wood fired ovens, ravioli's, spaghetti noodles, chicken with white beans, and traditional tiramasu. Marisa also was so kind to come to our villa the following day and take us to her doctor 30 miles away and do all of the translation at the doctor's office and the pharmacy for our little 16 month old grandson who had a double ear infection. She went above and beyond to help us. Also, the owner's of the villa arranged a private tour of the olive mill, "Villa I Bonsi" in Reggello which was fantastic. Monika Wolfel 39-339-7674695 phone is the contact and she does speak excellent English too.
Northbrook, USA POSTED: 17/10/2008 The villa was wonderful and the property was lovely! Lucia and her family were welcoming and helpful. The villa had lots of space and rooms and was very comfortable for all of us. The pizza kitchen was our favorite place to be! Use the pizza oven! To visit Florence, drive to Sieci and take the 15 minute train into the city. The woolen goods at the T.A.C.S. shops and factory are beautiful! Lunch at the restaurant in the old center is wonderful.
..., ., POSTED: 28/06/2008 Dear Lucia and family, We have had two wonderful weeks in your beautiful house. The kids enjoyed the pool and we adults enjoyed a relaxing time by the pool and some nice meals prepared by Nella and her helper. Also very nice restaurants in Stia. This was our first trip to Tuscany but not the last! Friendly people, beautiful area and very good food and wine. All the best!!! Family Willer
MT UPTON, USA POSTED: 21/06/2008 Lucia (the owner) met us when we arrived and was very helpful. She gave us a warm greeting and exit.
..., USA POSTED: 17/05/2008 We had a wonderful time at this beautiful villa and exploring Stia and at surrounding Tuscany. Thanks to Manuela for the delicious dinner! We could not have imagined a better vacation. We came from Baltimore, Maryland, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, California. All that travel was definitely worth it! Hope to be back one day... Beautiful home, great people-we love Italy
Cleveland Heights, USA POSTED: 16/05/2008 The villa is located just up the road from Stia which was perfect for an afternoon stroll to the gelateria or the Coop for groceries. There were 3 lovely restaurants in town to choose from as well as several boutiques with a variety of wares. The roads to the villa are gorgeous - winding through the mountains. We all enjoyed the town and the town.
Wonderful location - we made day trips all over Tuscany - Siena, Assisi, Cortona, Arezzo and Florence of course. A couple of us even managed to make our way to and from San Marino. The villa even more beautiful than the photos indicate and very spacious even for our party of 10. The owners - Lucia and her family were wonderful hosts. They met us at the front door and even shepherded a couple of us to the villa when we were lost on the road prior to our arrival. There are several wineries in the surrounding area as well as several "Wine Roads" very close to the villa.
..., Michigan, POSTED: 20/10/2007 what a beautiful place! we enjoyed the town very much-the castle, the restaurants, the people. We took side trips to "Camaldoli" and "La Verna". Wonderful lunch at "La vite" in Soci! Greve and Siena and Florence!
GLENROTHES, UNITED KINGDOM POSTED: 02/10/2007 Delightful village, friendly local people. Villa very spacious and very friendly welcome.
