Boggina is a private Italian vacation home with a delicious covered outside terrace overlooking the vineyards and pool area which is located only 50 meters from the front door. Decorated in a typical rustic style this two bedroom, one bathroom villa has maintained the terracotta floors and country open air style traditionally found in Tuscan homes.
Boggina is a private villa rental situated in Chianti and offers an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the charm of Tuscany by hiking, mountain biking or even more relaxing a deck chair out by the pool overlooking the rolling hills of grapes and olives trees. The surrounding landscape is rich with ancient churches and century old trees. The villa opens up on the first floor to a large living area which includes the kitchen and living room area. There is a beautiful open face fireplace and a sitting area in front where you can cuddle up and think about the days events traveling Tuscany.

Great location; quuaint old building; lovely views; peaceful setting; shaded parking; lovely cool pool; friendly and helpful owner; comfortable if not luxurious furnishing.
Remember that Italians - like Parisians - go on holiday in August. All sorts of places were closed.
If going to Firenze, park in the (free) car park behind Montevarchi station. Get your ticket punched by the machines on the platform.
Learn the 3 price rule: cheapest standing at the bar; less cheap sitting in the bar; most expensive sitting outside the bar.
Check the prices of ice creams before you order.
If using satnav - ensure it has been updated with Italian info.
Watch out for public holidays and shop beforehand.
Montevarchi Co-Op has everything.
Bologna - like many Italian cities - is among the least car friendly places on earth: take the train.
Read parking restriction rules 3 times. When you still get a ticket, you can pay at the Post Office.
You haven't eaten pizza, until you have eaten it in Italy.

| Trondheim, Norway POSTED: 19/07/2008 The story about Jamie Oliver and his taste for the wine from the Portolo winery was a nice surprise. Several of the pictures in the book "Jamie's Italy" was taken right outside the Boggina Villa. And the wine was very good! Remember to ask for a tour of the farm. They do not offer it if you don't ask them. And to arrange your own picnic almost at the top of the watch-tower is a winner :-) Rita, the lady in charge of the villa, was very nice and offered suggestions and tips from the area surounding the villa. You are lost with out a car. And it is just as well something to mention in the description of the villa. But with at rental car your are free to visit so many nice places not far from the villa. |

(great pizza at the Delta Hotel in Montevarche, btw)...
I'd definitely warn people, however, that visiting the ancient tower at the top of the hill is treacherous and not worth the effort! |
| Bornheim, D -53332, POSTED: 09/08/2004 Boggina ist ein Paradies für Elltern kleiner Kinder, insbesondere wegen des traumhaften swimming-pools, das man ganz für sich alleine hat. Auch wenn es sehr heiß ist, gibt es genügend Schatten. Desweiteren ist die überdachte Terrasse mit Blick auf die Weinberge wunderbar - mit einem Glas Wein in der Hand werden die Abende immer länger. |
