- A private Tennis ground belongs to the property. If you don’t bring your own rackets you and borrow them on site.

London, UK POSTED: 24/11/2008 Luca who owns Mattone is an absolutely delightful host, he could not have been nicer. His wine and oil are delicious. The location is great. We liked the rooms - they were a little 'rustic' but they turned out to be perfect for our group as we got enough bathrooms and had some extra fridges and kitchen facilities. We loved the outdoor seating area for dinner and the barbecues came in very handy. Most of all we LOVED the swimming pool. It was big, clean, safe for the kids and had the most amazing views. The holiday was idyllic.
Buy oil, wine and vin santo from Luca. Other foods etc. can be bought at the nearby PAM supermarket (which opens on a Sunday too!). There are so many lovely towns nearby. Go to San Gimignano EARLY or LATE to avoid the bus crowds but do go! Go to Monteriggioni and have lunch or dinner in the garden of one of the restaurants. |
| Zürich, Schweiz POSTED: 02/08/2008 Die Lage der Villa Mattone war atemberaubend und die Ausstattung ideal für unsere grosse Familie. Auf der grosszügigen Terrasse haben wir unvergessliche Abende verbracht und das toscanische Panorama genossen. Das hübsche kleine Theater wurde von den Kindern rege genutzt um Produktionen aller Art vorzuführen. Der überaus sympatische Besitzer der Villa Mattone Luca hat uns in jeglichen Fragen beraten und geholfen. Wir haben einige wertvolle Tips bezüglich Restaurants und Einkaufen bekommen. Lucas Olivenöl und der Chianti sind übrigens vorzüglich! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

We enjoyed being able to go to San Gimignano, which is less than 5 minutes away, later in the afternoon when the crowds were gone. Owner Luca was very helpful. He arranged a wonderful tour and meal at a near by winery. He made our stay very comfortable and was willing to talk with us. He took us on a tour of his estate and then took us to the winery next door to tour and buy wine and honey. The views from the entire estate were breath taking. We miss them already! I know we will return soon. |

The villa grounds are also breathtaking with amazing sunsets all over the valley. Luca the owner is lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. He could not be faulted. The ampitheatre was fantastic and many a night was spent entertaining ourselves there. |
| Neubiberg, D -85579, POSTED: 28/07/2004 Buongiorno aus Deutschland. Ja wir hatten eine gute Heimreise und einen herrlichen Aufenthalt in der Toskana. Mattone ist mit Worten garnicht zu beschreiben....einfach traumhaft ! Eine Sorge hatten wir zu Beginn unseres Urlaubs, nachdem ein Pärchen in einem Zimmer ohne Fenster untergebracht wurde. Und das zu dem gleichen Preis wie die Anderen. Nach "Verhandlungen" mit Lucca (dem Besitzer) konnte dieses Pärchen aber am Dienstag in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. Die angegebene "Staustufe" haben wir leider nicht gefunden. Und die Schotter-Auffahrt ist für Motorradfahrer eine echte Herausvorderung. Was noch schön wäre ! Ein Ordner für uns Urlauber, aus der man ersehen kann wo man Einkaufen, Tanken, Essen usw. kann. Vielleicht noch ein paar Ausflugsziele mit Stadtplan ? |
