Many people when they think Chianti - can only invision Greve in Chianti or the ever famous Rada in Chianti with its rolling hills and endless vineyards. But the first noted Tuscan wine producing area goes way further east towards Arezzo. AND many of our Tuscan villa rentals are living proof of their fame years ago, there are still many producing wine today.

The imposing ruins of the Rocca di Civitella in Valdichiana overlooks the Ambra and the Chiana Valley. Civitella, crowning a dominate hill, is one of the best preserved testimony of the many Longobard fortresses built between the 6th and the 7th century which were strategically set to control the whole central Italy.

Once you have fully admired the beautiful square in Arezzo - you can finish walking up the hill to this little tiny restaurant and settle down for an Italian meal that includes everything but pasta.

Most villas can arrange cooking classes for you - the chef will come to your villa in early afternoon and assist you in making one of the best home made Italians meals you have ever had. The will go over secrets of rolling the pasta, preparing the sugo and seasoning the main course - and then you can all sit and enjoy the hours of long hard work.
