Villa Antica

This historic vacation rental is actually a convent which was built in the late 1100’s and now a large and impressive holiday home. You will find lots of reminders in the architectural structure to remind you of its origins. A beautiful setting for families and friends looking to reserve a special and unique vacation home in a stupendous setting – close to restaurants, shops, public transport and major highways while at the same time reserving a piece of Tuscan countryside for their holiday pleasure.
The villa is divided into three different floors. The ground floor is primarily dedicated to the kitchen and meals except for one super large bedroom and bathroom. As you walk in on the left handside is a sitting room with sofa bed, and a separate bedroom with a double bed. This bedroom has its own private bathroom on the ground floor.
To the right of the main entrance is a large dining room, with an beautifully restored brick arched ceiling. Here the whole group can enjoy their meals together seated at a long wooden table – just like those who lived here several hundred years ago. The dining room is large and spacious – as well as cool and fresh in the summer months. Off of the dining room is the reception area where the owner and caretaker can assist you with any questions you may have about the local area.
Further down the main entrance, once again on the left you will find the kitchen. This is a working kitchen designed so large meals – even special ceremonies – like weddings or commemorative anniversaries. You will find all modern facilities incorporated into a unique and ancient setting – stove with oven, refrigerator with freezer and a dishwasher.
There is also a wood burning stove right outside the kitchen for experimenting with the pizzas – or you can ask the on site caretaker to make you a meal – and you can participate in making pizzas together.

In front of the kitchen is an area which the owner designed as the breakfast room – where groups and come down and enjoy light meals together.  There is also the laundry room behind this area.

On the right of the stairs leading to the first floor is a separate sitting room with an immense traditional Tuscan fireplace. The villa is truly special with all of the attention paid to detail in the colors chosen for the walls, to the restoration of the lovely wooden beams, terracotta floors and several antique pieces which furnish the villa.

WATFORD, United Kingdom, POSTED: 22/08/2008 We were very impressed by the villa, grounds and pool and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Having returned to rainy England, my mind keeps drifting back to sitting in the gardens in the warm summer evening with a glass of chianti in hand. The contact Paola, was very welcoming and friendly.
Stavanger, Norway, POSTED: 28/06/2008 Many of the rooms were in fact nicer than they appeared on the photos!Silent, no disturbing traffic or noisy neighbours. Nice view and a cool breeze. The big and well equipped kitchen was very suitable for people who like to cook (and with a pizza oven!). An industrial size dishwasher made everything a lot easier. The resturant run by the villa owner was excellent. Only a couple of hundred meeters to walk on a picturesque road. The villa is well situated for day trips to e.g. Siena and other Tuscan towns.
München, Deutschland, POSTED: 09/06/2008 Unvorstellbar schönes, herrschaftliches, riesiges Haus, wundervoller Garten, herrliche Aussicht, großer, toller Swimmingpool. Große Zimmer (kleine, einfache Bäder). Charmante, schöne Einrichtung. Zwei traumhafte Kaminzimmer.
Budapest, Hungary, POSTED: 06/07/2007 One evening we requested for an italian cook for cooking a tuscan dinner and it was more than we had expected, I recommend to everybody to try!!!Living in Villa Antica is like living in a dream, the great, freedomfull feeling beeing a landlord in ancient times in the most beautiful surroundings with tranquility, which is very rare to find elsewhere.
Holly Springs, United States of America, POSTED: 01/07/2007 The villa was wonderful! The villa is nicely maintained, there was plenty of space, and the views were beautiful. It was perfect for our family reunion. We loved sitting on the terrace in the morning and dining on the lawn in the evening. Our contact at the villa, Paola, was welcoming and helpful. We loved Ristorante Fiorentino in Sansepolcro.
Staten Island, USA, POSTED: 22/10/2006 Arezzo is very nice and only a 10 minute drive from the Villa
This Villa is a must! I loved it so much that I will visit again. The views from the Villa are wonderful.
London, UK, POSTED: 22/10/2006 The villa was simply amazing. The bedroom layout was FANTASTIC. Allowed for tons of privacy. Our friends are going back to the same place for a family reunion they enjoyed it so much. Also - if you have the opportunity to take part in the local wine tour and tasting, DEFINITELY DO IT! The wines are amazing. We've imported several cases back in the UK and US. The wines are outstanding and the people are some of the kindest we've ever met. Also, there was a beautifully ripe fig tree and plum tree and several herb plants that we cooked with. There is a wood burning oven off of the kitchen that we used several times. The swimming pool was wonderful
Traiskirchen, Österreich, POSTED: 15/07/2006 Buchen sie gleich zwei Wochen!!
Die Abgeschiedenheit des Hauses, und doch die Nähe zu Arezzo.
