This traditional Tuscan family farmhouse has been totally restored to offer 8 bedrooms, holding up to 22 people. The view from this Tuscan residence offers a tantalizing view of the Castle of Romena built 1000 years ago and the famous monastery LA VERNA of St. Francis of Assisi from the year 1200. The owner is a refined horseman and offers to take his guest on short trips in the nearby Tuscany hillside.
The ground floor is composed of four bedrooms, three full-bathrooms and two living spaces with a kitchen corner and two comfortable double sofa-beds. Each family or couple has their own privacy, if they want to prepare rapid snacks independently from the main group, specially when they have children.
The living room is spacious, with direct access from the garden, and can easily be transformed into a comfortable double bedroom. The sofa bed is large and comfortable like a normal double bed and can easily accommodates a couple. The panoramic window turned to the green garden is a great feature of this room.
The first double bedroom on the ground floor has a French door to the garden and easy access even for a wheelchair. Furnished with a comfortable wooden queen size double bed, the door has curtains as you can choose between a wide and illuminated environment during the day or a shady cosy place in the night.
The bathroom is large and fully equipped with a modern shower box, WC, bidet and sink, shared between the first and the second bedrooms. The second living room has also a large and comfortable sofa bed that can easily become a queen size double bed. The kitchen corner can be useful in case you want a quick snack by your own or if you have small children.
A separated living / dining offers space where to sit down for a glass of wine or an evening chat, in front of the open fireplace. The second bedroom on the ground floor is furnished with a wrought iron classic French bed (1,20m of width), original wooden Tuscan furnishings. All bedrooms keep the traditional Tuscan architecture, with high wooden beamed ceilings and floor completely covered with Umbrian handmade fired bricks!

The third and the fourth bedrooms are both furnished with queen size double beds, one of them with direct access to the garden. Each one has its own full-bathroom, equipped with shower box, WC, bidet and sink. In one of these bathrooms is available a clothes washer for use of all guests.
On the first floor there are the other four double bedrooms, all of them with windows and stunning views of Casentino hills. The Castle of Romena, amazing tower from the 10th century, can be watched right in front of the property, specially from the double bedroom located at the “Torretta” – higher point of the villa, from its three windows. One of the bedrooms has an internal fireplace.
Two of them are furnished with twin beds, that can be made as two singles or one large double bed. The external area is large, and provides much space for outdoor meals and activities. Near the villa there is a private pool with 10 x 5m and located in a panoramic position. The swimming pool is furnished with everything necessary for a comfortable sunbath: umbrellas, sun-beds and deckchairs.
There is a nice patio with “Cotto” floor (fired bricks) where you have tables and chairs available for a delicious barbecue (a portable grill is available). The house is surrounded by a green garden where you find also natural fruit trees, herbs and fresh tomatoes. Guests are allowed to pick and use these local products.
Moreover, the owners can supply organic cheese, fresh meat (like a fresh Fiorentina steak), fresh handmade pasta and jam, from local producers. The owners can organize amazing horseback trekking around the area.
Upon request it is possible to ask for a dinner cooked for you at the villa. There is a common room with tables and chairs that can be arranged as many separated tables seating 4 people each or put them all together into two large tables for the whole group to seat together. Guests have access to the professional kitchen next the common dining room, where they can prepare meals by their own.
Nearby are the Abbey of Vallombrosa, the medieval Castello di Romena from the 12th. century, and several important Romanesque churches from the 11th. and 12th. century. The house is close to the National Park of the Casentino Forest. The place is absolutely silent, with a private road leading to the property. No public roads or cars within 1 mile.
This Tuscan residence is located about 7 km from the active town of Pratovecchio, between Florence and Arezzo where one can enjoy great Italian restaurants, a fun morning at the open air market and breakfast at the local Tuscan cafe. Florence, Cortona, Siena and Chianti are all easy day trips - a wonderful place to unwind or cool off after an exhilarating afternoon exploring the Tuscan countryside.
