This historic Villa is an outstanding Tuscan rental located only one mile from the city centre of MONTEPULICIANO. There is a local minibus shuttle that brings you from the villa right into town. By feet it will take you 10 minutes. In medieval times this house was used as watchtower, due to its strategic position, overlooking the whole Chiana valley and the hill town of Montepulciano in front.

The owners live in Rome and reformed the place some years ago. Today NIBBIANO is a very elegant Villa with all modern comforts, lots of internal space and a huge garden completely fenced in. The villa was restructured using only the best materials and respecting the strong and authentic architecture of this property, that has all items of a real Tuscan manor house. Wooden beamed ceilings, a working fireplace in the living room, floors with hand made Cotto tiles, stunning views from all windows and two beautiful outdoor terraces directly attached to the house.

On the ground floor there is a completely furnished kitchen with dishwasher, clothe washer, a large 5 burner stove with oven, a double sink and lot of working space made all in white marble: There is a large fridge with freezer and all kitchen items to do a full Tuscan meal. From the kitchen you have direct access to the covered terrace with a gorgeous view of Montepulciano and the garden. The garden is completely fenced, 10.000 square meters large and very well kept with meadows and century old trees and several sitting places.

From the kitchen there is a door that leads into the dinning room and to the living room with its 200 year old fireplace. The inside dinning room has a table for 6 persons, but most of the time you will eat outside on one of the all fresco dining place. In spring and autumn you might choose the terrace located towards south, so that the sun gives you a nice cosy feeling and as the terrace has walls on two sides there will be no wind disturbing your dinner. In the hot summer days you will choose the terrace that looks towards north and there you always have a fresh climate and a mild breeze. There is a guest toilet on the ground floor.

The FIRST FLOOR can be accessed by an outside staircase as well as by an internal round staircase. The first floor  has two large bedrooms each with its one bathroom. One bedroom has a queen-size double bed, the other has two twins. The furniture of this villa is done with antique family pieces and artwork. The owners family will use the villa for some weeks in the summer and all the rest of the year we rent it out.

Both bathrooms on the first floor have a shower box, a WC, a bidet and a sink. The bathrooms are tiled from the bottom to the top with Italian ceramics in fresh colours. You will realize that this villa was projected and restructured for private use of the owners family, everything was done in the best possible way. You will be lucky to spend your Tuscan holiday in such a villa where modern comforts melts with history and tradition in a unique way.

The internal staircase continues on to the SECOND FLOOR where you have one large master bedroom with a queen-size double bed and a really spacious en suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi whirlpool tub. This bedroom is really fantastic with windows on all walls, each showing a different panorama of unspoiled Tuscan landscape. You can see the heavy oak beams that hold the traditional roof structure called “Capriate”. This technique  has been used to build roofs for larger houses and churches in Tuscany for centuries.

The following photos show the charming historic town of Montepulciano, less than 1 mile from the villa. Not only will you find a unique architectural structure, the typical Tuscany hill town with fortified walls, narrow roads plastered with cobblestones and several 700 year old churches, but also lots of restaurants, shops, cafes and many, many “cantinas”. This is an ideal place to spend the evening strolling the hill town or a great night out tasting the local vino nobile. Wine tasting in Montepulciano means to taste the best what Tuscan hills’ have to offer.

Many cantinas (wineries) are dug in the hillsides around the village and offer the perfect space for keeping safe this spectacular wine productions. Clara, the caretaker of the villa, knows the area very well and will help you in finding just the right places to visit. She is a great cook and on request she will do a full Tuscan meal in your Villa. You can assist her, or just watch her preparing your meal. She is also great in reserving restaurants or setting up your own personal wine tour.

Nearly all houses in the historic centre of Montepulciano have their one wine cellar scarved in the stony mountain that is the fundament of the whole city. Several cantinas can be visited for free. I was very impressed from the CANTINA DEI REDI, nearly on top of the hill, look out for signposts or ask the friendly locals to show you the way. You will find century old galleries full of wine barrels and bottles and huge halls scarved in the solid stone. The antique manor houses of the village have been constructed above these cellars.

Charm, beauty, history and hospitality sum up this incredible Tuscan holiday home. You will find the grounds to be well cared for and offering many opportunities to relax in the sun or in the shade. Close to the Villa you find many major attractions like Pienza, famous for its Pecorino cheese, or Montalcino, famous for its Brunello wine or Chianciano Terme with its natural healing water springs. This vacation rental is the perfect setting for a group of friends or a family.

From May 2012 onwards there will be a private pool available at this villa!! Pool size 5 per 10 meters with large terrace surrounding the pool with deck chairs and umbrellas! So you can take all this Tuscan Sun you want.
