There are two main features in this town - the ancient church and the town square dominated by a “castelletto” which is supposed to have been a part of the original defences, and was restored to its present form between 1901 and 1907.
Probably best known for its incredible and lovely oval town square, Lucca has made it to the top of must see lists for Tuscany many times over.
