Pappardelle with wild boar sauce
Considered one of the Tuscan ART TOWNS, Massa Marittima is positioned on the “Colline Metallifere” (metal hills – the area is rich of precious metals), between the Etruscan coast and the countryside.
This is a magnificient resort, Michella our host was prompt to help us in all areas we could think about. She made everything possible to make sure we would be delighted in all aspects she went beyond our expectations.

Very helpful and friendly staff who looked after us very well during our stay. We stayed in the Piazetta appartment and found the shower to be too small!! But with that exception the apartment was great and had everything we needed.
06 September 2008Ally Cattermole, Wallington, UKFrom the cypress lined drive up to the manor (which looked like a film set!), to the monographed towels and robes, the teapot, cup and saucers, the wonderful wine tour (we drank the wine and ate the cheese with old dear friends), to Michela's smiling and helpful self, Piergiorgio's passion for his vineyards and Tuscany in general, the weather, the pool... the list goes on. Everything was perfect!!! The attention to detail was much appreciated. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. A tuscan home away from home!

The kitchen was well equipped but could use a larger coffee maker. We enjoyed provision of wine for use/purchase and we certainly appreciated the welcome basket. Courtesy of the Estate staff was appreciated.

The grounds of the vineyard are so relaxing to walk through as is sitting by the pool. The location is perfect! Close driving trips such as Volterra, San Gimignano and Pisa make sight seeing very easy. The staff at Casalone are amazing. We were looked after so very thoughtfully as every need was attended to with a smile and enthusiasm. Michela made the experience in Tuscany exceed our every expectation. She made so much of an effort to ensure the perfect holiday. She and the groungdskeepers make this resort have a lovely family friendly atmosphere. Thanks so much. Alex and Ben.
