Quaint restaurant, great wine list and in the summer time an incredible panoramic terrace. Worth the visit to this little town to see the fortress and walk the streets, its like living in yesteryear.
Great home style cooking at even better prices. You can eat alot and not have to worry about the prices eating you. They are hidden in a little alley way that opens into a delicious summer terrace as well as an inside sala.
We really appreciated the warm welcome we received at arrival. We particularly enjoyed the space around the villa (25 ACRES !!!)eating "al fresco" sourrounded by beautiful views and relaxing by the large pool . Enjoyed our trips to Forte dei Marmi and Barga. The thursday market in Castelnuovo was worth a visit and having Marco come round to prepare an authentic tuscan meal was a great cultural experience . Thanks for this lovely week. PS: Parco Avventura and horse riding were fantastic experiences for the children .

09 May 2009Fabienne family, Amsterdam, The NederlandWe had a great time in Villa di Sopra ! The villa is fantastic and the area is beautiful. Especially the garden with the pool was very nice for the children. We enjoyed the fireplace and the BBQ which we used almost every night ! Castelnuovo Garfagnana is a nice, authentic town where we bought good local products and had good meals . We also went to Lucca and to fish in Vagli lake
23 August 2008Peter Garratt, Wantage, UKFirstly, many thanks to Fabrizio and Alessandro for their kindness and hospitality. The house is perfectly equipped for all holiday eventualities, with also dry wood for the pizza oven (just make sure it gets really hot), clear instructions for appliances and lots of advices in the house book. Our highlights were the superb meal prepared for us by Marco from the minimarket "Il Punto", some tasty local specialities including his friends honey, OTTIMO ! Also a delightful 2 hours riding horses around Castiglione Garfagnana (Corniolo stables, tel. 39-0583-68705).Hiring some bikes in Lucca to ride around Lucca city walls was also memorable and relaxing. But like so many of our predecessors here, the majority of time has been spent around the villa, in the lovely pool, playing table tennis and table football,strolling around the grounds and enjoying the place tranquillity.

A fantastic villa equipped with everything a family could wish for. Good selection of movies too. Much much more than I expected. The owner family has thought of everything you could wish for and.... what a view, especially the face on the mountain in front of the villa. I loved everything of this place: the pool, the table tennis and football: it was great and fun !

We have enjoyed the house,the barbecue the gardens and the pool. Both Mr. Fabrizio and Alessandro have been the kindnest in the world and we appreciated that so much.
