Villa Marittima is a beautiful private farmhouse, recently restored with much care and good taste, maintaining the rustic typical features of a Tuscan villa, became a vacation home where to get immersed in the real Tuscan lifestyle.
The villa is composed of two houses built of stone, each with its old thick walls that stand up for centuries, creating a mild indoor temperature the whole year long. The main villa plus the dependence offer enough room for a group of up to 10 people, in very comfortable accommodations.
The position is very privileged on the top of a hill, totally secluded, with limitless panoramic views from the garden, the pool area and from all windows. The area is composed of a sequence of hills close to the sea, covered of olive groves and vineyards, which makes a colorful patchwork and a unique landscape.
The outdoor area is totally private and very wide, offering much space where to stroll around, relax, chat with friends, sunbath and have meals. The garden is fully equipped for outdoor meals and barbecue parties. The terrace opens directly to the main dining room, where is possible to rather the whole groups for a formal dinner beside the open fireplace.
The main house with its 250 square meters opens to a wide room with its original floors of handmade fired bricks, or the so called “cotto fiorentino”. The original bricked archways, wooden beamed ceilings and rustic furniture respect the traditional style of the farmhouse.
The dining room gives access to the living room, which is very comfortable and spacious, with two large sofas and an original fireplace. This room has a French door which opens directly to the opposite side of the house, one of the many accesses to the surrounding garden.
The villa is fully equipped with many appliances to offer a relaxing and thoughtless vacation: SAT TV, stereo system; telephone and fax. There is a small library with many books in English or German languages.
Outside there is an open terrace equipped with table and chairs and many other spots where to stay and relax. The pool (10 x 5 meters) is surrounded by a solarium area which is fully equipped with umbrellas and comfortable sun loungers.
The outdoor terrace gives direct access to the kitchen, recently renewed and fully equipped with all necessary utensils and appliances, including oven, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, espresso coffee maker and a large wooden folding table that can become larger according to your needs.
Besides, one more delightful room where to relax after the exciting day-trips, an “L” sitting room with very comfortable sofa with enough seats for the whole group, where to chat with friends in the late afternoon or early evening, in front of the lovely fireplace.
The staircase leads to the first floor where the bedrooms and bathrooms are located. There is one master bedroom with ante-room furnished with good taste, with armchairs and a fireplace. The original bricked archway leads to the bedroom, furnished with a comfortable double bed. The master bedroom has its own private en-suite bathroom, fully equipped with bathtub, a handheld shower, WC, bidet and sink.
Beside it there are two smaller rooms, each one furnished with twin beds, which can be put together to make a large double bed upon request. Each one has traditional wooden beds, original fired bricked floors, wooden beamed ceiling and large windows with views over the garden and the valley below.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom, equipped with bathtub, handheld showers, WC and sink.
The dependence, located right in front of the main house, offers an ideal accommodation for a family unit travelling together who wants to have their own privacy. Composed of two floors: on the ground floor there is a guest toilet (useful also to serve the garden and pool area), a fully equipped kitchen with dining corner which opens to the central terrace, where is possible to have outdoor meals. There is a living room with comfortable sofa bed for two people, SAT TV, telephone and fax.
On the first floor there is a delightful double bedroom, very wide and comfortable, with a private balcony. Wonderful ocean view from this point, in clear days is possible to see the Island of Elba! This bedroom has a large en suite bathroom with bathtub, shower box, double sink, WC and bidet.
The location is close to a medieval hill town between the countryside and seaside, 40 km from the best Tuscan sandy beaches. This piece of coast, that goes from Marina di Donoratico – an exciting point with sandy beaches, restaurants and active night life – and San Vincenzo, peaceful and fully equipped sandy beaches of the Etruscan coast, offers many activities.
Close to the villa you will have the chance to make day trips around medieval castles and fortified villages like Castagneto Carducci, wineries of the Bolgheri area, a relaxing day on the beach and fun water activities, boat trips to Island of Elba leaving from Piombino (less than 50 km away) and a historic tour of the Etruscan Archeological Park of Baratti.
