Situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany - the Pisan Hills, this splendid villa sits on the side of a hill with sweeping views down the valley and the hilltop villages and is surrounded by 12 acres of landscaped gardens, orchards, olives and woodland.
The extraordinary pool in the style of a Roman Bath is 17m long, with water falls in and out. There is both paved terrace and ample lawn shaded naturally by trees and also umbrellas and ample sun beds, deck chairs, etc.
The owners of ANTICA FORNACE are appassionate gardeners. The natural landscaped garden expands and descends into the surrounding terraced slopes planted with many varieties of fruit trees and olives bordered in Spring with massive swathes of Daffodils followed by Iris and later Roses.
From the upper terraces one looks to the left to the water feature of pond, waterfall and swimmingpool and straight ahead to the right three other water features of ponds and waterfalls, in all bordered by mixed woodland.
There is a large parking ara behind the house from which terrace climb up beyond and above the house opportuning excellent walking and rambling.
Extra Services like a Chef cooking a special Tuscany dinner for you, guided tours or maggage-in-house are offered upon request.
The restoration of this property has been done to a very high standard maintaining the original characteristics of the house with travertine and terracotta floors throughout and at the same time, with all modern amenities including underfloor heating on the ground floor.
On the ground floor there are 4 reception rooms, comprising large well equipped kitchen with separate Utility Room, a Family/Day Room, large Dining Room, Sitting Room, Sun Room, Study and spacious Entrance Hall and Cloak Room - all with French Windows onto the pergola covered terrace with glorious views across the landscaped valley to the wooded hillside beyond.
There is an extensive living-, diningroom with kitchen of 50 square meters, open fireplace and laundry room plus larder beyond. An open archway gives access to a large formal dining room which in turn opens into the entrance hall with stairs to the first floor.
Beyond the entrance hall is the generous sitting room with open fireplace and an alcove containing a grand piano.
Steps lead down to a sitting room (sun-room) with large French windows onto the terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
The first floor is reached from the open travertine staircase which leads to a large but intimate library at the top from where the 4 bedrooms can be accessed.
A twin bedded and double bedroom share a bathroom with Jacuzzi and walk in shower.
The master suite, with triple views, is at a lower level with En suite bath-/dressing room and walk in shower.
In total there are 4 bedrooms – 2 bedrooms with En-Suite bathrooms and two sharing a bathroom with jacuzzi.
The large terrace is equipped with a sun umbrella and dining-table with chairs for up to 8 people, ideal to have breakfast and meals al fresco.
ANTICA FORNACE is only 4 minutes to the two nearest villages, Lari and Casciana Alta, 30 minutes to the sea and the International Airport at Pisa, and within one hour to most important cities and tourist attractions in Tuscany like PISA, FLORENCE, SAN GIMIGNANO, VOLTERRA, LUCCA and SIENA.
