Our dream of staying in a Tuscan villa was met last week when we arrived at Tre Mori. The pouring rain did not dampen our spirits, because of the wonderful welcome we received from the owners, Peter and Danny. This villa, tucked deep into the hills of the Casentino Valley is not a typical tourist destination. It is much more unique and more beautiful than any place we have been in Tuscany. It is a short drive to Arezzo, Cortona, Poppi, Siena, and other hill towns. Also, know that if you never leave the villa or surrounding towns, you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the swimming pool, the smell of star jasmine and lavender, lightening bugs at night, and hearing birds singing in the morning. There is also wonderful hiking and natural beauty in every direction. The owners, Peter and Danny are wonderful hosts, treating you like family. They will help you plan your visit, yet not be intrusive. This was our second visit, and we were pleased to see the addition of their gym and "state of the art" sauna, which we used every day. We would highly recommend Tre Mori, and you will also see that it is definitely a hidden secret.

I have stayed at ten different rental units in Italy since 2002. From apartments, to farming co-ops, to country homes. My #1 favorite? Tre Mori! Why? I don’t know where to begin. From the convenience, beauty and privacy of the location, to the “at home” comfort of Tre Mori itself and to the welcoming, funny and gregarious personality of Daniele. I would not change a thing. Daniele even lent us his personal IPOD so we could hear very specific music we asked for. I think there are move DVD’s to watch then movies I have seen in my whole life, but I have to admit, we didn’t watch one. Who would watch a movie when you can sit out on the patio and watch (sketch, photograph, absorb) sunrises, sunsets, and experience mother earth bombarding you with beauty, which I can still see in my mind and fragrances I can still smell in my nostrils. The kitchen was so well equipped we were able to cook full meals on the days we just refused to leave the beauty of Tre Mori. Looking back now, all I conjure up is the absolute beauty, tranquility and comfort. If I think hard, I can remember the long and exhausting flight from the U.S., suffering from jet lag, having to wait at the airport for 2 hours in Rome for our rental car, 4 women and 8 suitcases crammed in an Opel for the 4 hour drive. As we pulled up to the house, as grumpy as we all were, our mouths were open with amazement that this was our home for the next two weeks. After a good night’s rest in super comfortable beds, and a day napping by the pool, all thoughts of that first day of travel evaporated from our minds until this very moment as I write this. I hadn’t thought about that part since that first day. We were four adult women, and we all felt like we had privacy when we wanted it, yet a family living area to share. We never ate one meal, (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner or cocktail hour) in the house! The patio was just to inviting. We still talk about how we wish we had spent more time with Daniele. He was not intrusive or around all the time, yet we could tell he was genuinely concerned that our every need was met. If he had to be away, he made sure charming sister Daniella checked in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. A car is required to get to and from the house, but for us it was part of the fun of exploring. Even if only driving to train stations! We were able to take a day trip to Venice, and could have done a day trip to Rome, (a long day), but we opted for a 3 night stay in Rome. My point here is how centrally located Tre Mori is. Once at the train station, all of Italy is at your disposal. Tre Mori is surrounded by nature, and you can feel it in the house as well as outside. From the power and water for use in the house, to the cooling effects of the windows and shutters, renewable energy is at play. It was eye opening to experience how much one could do to help the earth with modern energy techniques. And it was embarrassing as well to be an American and know we have fallen so short compared to Tre Mori. I must go back. That is just a fact of life I have come to terms with. Tre Mori’s siren song is part of my soul now! Dianne DiGregorio, Knoxville TN Visited 30 August 2014

We arrived after a long days travelling to a little piece of heaven. The house was beautiful, our hosts perfect, it was just lovely. A lot of our days were spent visiting many Tuscan towns and we were always relieved to arrive 'home' at the end of this days to the cool pool and sunny, peaceful terrace. Cannot rate this holiday villa high enough, hopefully we will return. Stayed July 2014, traveled with family

I have been there with my family for one week in summer 2009 and I am still under big impression. If you think that all Tuscany is just hills with olive trees then you'll be surprised. The area where Tre Mori is located looks much more like Bieszczady mountains in Poland, but it is not that wild and the climate is much better. The house consists of two parts - one belongs to our great and very friendly hosts (greetings Peter and Danieli), and the other is for guests with large, clean and well equipped living room with kitchen, there are also two bedrooms, nice terrace and fantastic pool where we spent most of our time (and drunk most of the wine we bought there ;)). If you think about shopping then you have to go to Castel San Niccolò - small and charming town with small groceries (great. local vegetables and bakery). There is also nice tavern called Saloon Da Lele with fantastic pizza. This was the best pizza I ever ate in my life! If you want to buy great chees and wine you can simply go down to Poppi. We have been doing some trips every second day to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and rest of our stay we spent just relaxing at the pool, reading books and drinking wine. What else do you need to be happy? Stayed July 2014, traveled with family

Located in the peaceful Casentino valley of Tuscany, about an hour's drive from Florence, Tre Mori provides a refuge from the tourist numbers that swamp Italy. Our host Danny with help from his family provided a welcome basket of goodies that we put to practical use on several evenings. Medieval villages around in the district and with advice from Danny, we discovered many of these as well as eating at his suggested restaurants. Tasting the local wines, salamis, cheeses and specialty dishes was a delight. Our self catered flat was supplied with everything we could need along with a good selection of books and even DVD's. The swimming pool was put to good use. Tip: Book early

After spending months searching for the perfect place to spend a week in Tuscany, I gave up and just shot an arrow into the map. What I ended up with was perfection! I had unknowingly chosen the most perfect example of secluded peace in the middle of the Tuscan Heartland with the most most wonderful hosts one could have ever wished for. Peter and Danny were like family from the minute we met them and did everything in their power to ensure that our stay was perfect from the moment we arrived until our final good-bye a week later (even letting us stay an extra night when we begged for it!) We were treated to gifts, information on the best sights, wineries, galleries and markets, directions on how to get everywhere (not an easy task with a rental car in the middle of unfamiliar territory), and where the best restaurants and markets were. Language was no problem...Peter is British and Danny is tres continental! They even treated us one night to a fabulous meal at our request since we celebrated three birthdays and an anniversary during that week...both of them are incredible chefs. In fact, this is their home, and they share it with guests from around the world. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in. The surrounding countryside is stunning and we walked for miles in tranquility and amazement on days when we weren't shopping or sightseeing (or hitting the wineries!). They have a pool and a hot tub, and the two guest suites are fully outfitted with just about anything you can possibly think of. Our suite had the most beautiful modern Italian kitchen I have ever seen, and I love to cook, so it was well appreciated. On our last night, they most graciously allowed us to stay in THEIR suite because they had another family booked in ours and WOW! From their fabulous custom bathroom to their incredible art collection, I spent more time awake than asleep that night just wandering around and gazing! The entire experience left us wishing we had spent an entire month at Tre Mori instead of wandering around the rest of the country for the next three weeks. It's a sure thing that we will be going back to this beautiful Villa to stay with Danny and Peter. Thank you both for such a wonderful, treasured experience. Don't miss it!

The Villa was beautiful. Very cozy, clean and situated in a very beautiful mountainous area of Tuscany. Our hosts (Peter and Dani) were very welcoming and accommodating and provided many tips and advice on what to see in the area.
If you want beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and a very romantic secluded setting this is an ideal villa for you. However if you want to be more closely situated to towns and/or civilization that you can easily walk or even take a short drive to for restaurants, local flavor etc. then Tre Mori is not what you're looking for. And as previously mentioned, if you want to experience wine tasting etc, look more into the Chianti region of Tuscany. If you go, don't miss spending a full day or two seeing everything there is to see in the town of Poppi. It really is incredibly beautiful. Bibblieana is also a very picturesque town to visit and explore. As well make sure you plan to spend at least 2 to 3 days in Florence. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
The pictures of the villa were very helpful and did accurately portray the quality and beauty of the villa and surrounding area.

Little did we realise that we had entered enchantment as we drove tired and travel sore through the gates of Tre Mori. We are both in 'giving' professions and we had almost given up, we were in need of peace and space all of which we have experienced here plus tender loving care from you both who have made the perfect company to celebrate my special birthday.

The villa and the area were lovely, it was a bit further from Florence than we counted on due to the mountain roads, etc.
